Yacht damage survey
After a grounding, collision, storm, fire, water ingress or an incident at the yard: a surveyor attends where the vessel lies, establishes the cause, documents the evidence and sets out the repair and its cost.
What you get
Attendance by an affiliated surveyor in the region, working to the Nansen Holt method
The cause of the damage, with the evidence that supports it
The extent of damage, documented with graded findings and photos
The repair method, and the repair quotes checked line by line
Incident damage separated from wear, earlier damage and betterment
A report in English, reviewed before delivery, that your team can work with directly
When it helps
Hull and machinery claims
Liability claims between vessels or with a yard
Groundings, collisions, storm and fire damage
Water ingress and sinking
Damage during haul-out, transport or storage
How it works
Send us the claim file or the notification. We confirm the surveyor, the date and the cost before anyone attends. Where an attendance is not worth the cost, we suggest a remote survey or a desktop review instead.
Questions
How quickly can a surveyor attend?
It depends on where the vessel lies and on access to her. We confirm the date together with the cost before you instruct.
Who can instruct a damage survey?
Insurers, adjusters, brokers and owners. The report is addressed to whoever instructs us.
Do you check the yard's repair quote?
Yes. We assess the repair method and check the quote line by line, and show items that are not related to the incident.
What if the vessel has already been repaired?
Then we assess the damage from photos, invoices and the account of the incident in a desktop review, and state what cannot be judged without an attendance.
