Repair supervision and owner's representation
When a yacht is repaired or refitted at a yard abroad, a surveyor attends on behalf of the owner or the insurer and checks scope, quality and cost before the final invoice is paid.
What you get
A check of the quote and the agreed scope before work starts
Inspections at agreed stages, including work that is later hidden
Records of additional work and variations, with their cost
Photo documentation of each stage
Confirmation of the completed repair before the final payment
When it helps
Insured repairs at a yard abroad
Refits and larger maintenance projects
Repairs agreed between buyer and seller before handover
How it works
We agree the stages with you and the yard in advance. The surveyor attends at each stage and reports after every visit, so you can approve the next step or the payment.
Questions
Can you attend only at the end?
Yes, but some work, such as laminate repairs, can only be judged before it is covered. Stage inspections are better for that.
Do you also work for insurers?
Yes. For insured repairs we can attend on behalf of the insurer and report on scope and cost.
What does it cost?
It depends on the number of stages and the travel. We confirm a fixed fee in writing before we start.
